Texas RV Inspection Finds Major Issues on a 2026 Alliance RV

When shopping for a luxury fifth wheel, many RV buyers place Alliance RV near the top of their list. The company has developed a strong reputation for customer service, thoughtful floorplans, and quality construction. But does that reputation mean a brand-new RV is ready for delivery?
At Cozy Camper Mobile RV Services, we recently completed a pre-purchase RV inspection on a 2026 Alliance Paradigm 41V13 in the Houston, Texas area. What we found serves as an important reminder that every RV, regardless of manufacturer, should receive an independent inspection before purchase.
Why Every New RV Needs a Pre-Purchase RV Inspection
One of the most common misconceptions in the RV industry is that a new RV will be free of defects.
Unfortunately, that simply is not the reality.
Modern RVs are incredibly complex machines containing thousands of individual components, including plumbing systems, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, appliances, slide rooms, leveling systems, roofing assemblies, and life-safety equipment. Even the best manufacturers occasionally miss issues during production.
A professional pre-purchase RV inspection helps identify those defects before they become the buyer's problem.
Whether you're purchasing a fifth wheel, travel trailer, toy hauler, or motorhome, an RV inspection can uncover issues that may otherwise go unnoticed until after delivery.
Leveling System Installed Incorrectly
The first significant issue discovered during this Alliance RV inspection involved the Lippert six-point hydraulic leveling system.
The leveling controls were effectively operating in reverse. When attempting to level the coach, the system would lift the opposite side of the RV from what was intended. Whether the cause was wiring or plumbing related, the result was the same: the leveling system could not properly perform its job.
A malfunctioning leveling system can create unnecessary stress on an RV and may prevent proper operation of slide rooms and appliances.
Roof Sealant and Water Intrusion Risks
One of the most important portions of any RV inspection is evaluating the roof and exterior sealing.
Water intrusion remains one of the leading causes of expensive RV repairs.
During this inspection, several sealant concerns were identified. While some repairs had already been attempted, a significant opening remained near the rear awning attachment area. Additional sealant voids were also present along portions of the sidewall.
Even small openings can allow moisture to enter wall cavities, potentially leading to rot, mold, delamination, and structural damage over time.
Plumbing Leak Found During Inspection
The most concerning discovery involved a substantial plumbing leak behind the water manifold.
Alliance utilizes a manifold-style plumbing system that allows individual water circuits to be isolated. During testing, a significant leak was identified behind the assembly.
Fortunately, the affected portion of the plumbing system could be isolated during testing to prevent further water damage.
Hidden plumbing leaks are particularly concerning because damage can occur long before an owner notices signs of a problem.
Possible Water Damage Concerns
While evaluating the leak area, an unusual bulge was observed in the nearby exterior wall.
Although determining the exact cause would require additional investigation beyond the scope of a standard RV inspection, the wall abnormality and nearby water concerns were located in the same general area.
Any wall irregularity should be evaluated carefully before purchase, especially when water intrusion is suspected.
Water Pump Performance Problems
Another issue identified involved the RV's water pump.
During extended testing, the pump would shut down after operating for a period of time and would only return to service after cooling down.
While this might seem minor at first glance, reliable water delivery is critical when camping.
A water pump that overheats can leave owners without water pressure for showers, sinks, toilets, and appliances.
Additional Fit and Finish Issues
Like many new RVs inspected before delivery, several cosmetic and fit-and-finish concerns were also identified, including:
Cabinet scratches
Peeling trim materials
Interior finish defects
Cosmetic inconsistencies
While these items may not prevent operation of the RV, they are still important to identify
and address before taking ownership.
What This Inspection Says About Alliance RV
It is important to provide context.
Alliance RV remains one of the more respected manufacturers in the RV industry. The company is independently owned, has earned a reputation for responsive customer service, and is often viewed favorably by RV owners.
The purpose of an RV inspection is not to criticize manufacturers.
The purpose is to identify defects before the buyer accepts delivery.
In this case, the dealership agreed to address the issues through the manufacturer warranty process, and the buyer ultimately moved forward with the purchase.
That outcome highlights exactly why professional RV inspections exist.
