At Cozy Camper, we stay on top of the latest RV news to keep our community informed. Here’s what’s happening in the RV industry this month, including important recalls, industry shifts, and a farewell to a respected educator.
Keystone RV is recalling 873 of its 2025 Travel Trailers due to incorrect wiring in the 12-volt distribution box and 7-pin connection. This miswiring could lead to insufficient surge protection, potentially causing electrical issues. If you own a Keystone travel trailer, check with Keystone’s website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for more details on this recall and how to proceed with necessary repairs.
Airstream is recalling 648 Airstream Classic travel trailers manufactured between 2021 and 2025 due to underrated wiring in the sofa. This wiring issue can lead to overheating, posing a fire hazard. Affected owners should contact Airstream or the NHTSA for recall instructions to ensure their trailers remain safe.
Heartland RV, a well-known manufacturer of models such as Bighorn, Cyclone, and North Trail, is undergoing a major restructuring under its parent company, Thor Industries. The goal is to streamline production and improve efficiency in response to a market downturn. While existing owners will not be affected, there is speculation that some Heartland brands may be consolidated or discontinued. All warranties will still be honored by Thor Industries. Stay updated with Heartland’s website for further announcements.
Remembering Bill Stewart
The RV community lost a legend last week with the passing of Bill Stewart, longtime RV Technical Institute Director of Education. Known as “Dr. Bill”, Stewart dedicated more than 40 years to the RV industry, mentoring countless technicians and shaping RV education. He was 67 years old. His contributions to RV service and education will not be forgotten.
